Happy 5th Birthday Emmy!

Emmy had a fun filled birthday! She invited 5 friends to have a "beauty spa day" We painted nails, put on makeup, had massages, got foot rubs, made slippers and much more! The girls had a blast and Emmy is still talking about how much fun she had! It was such a memorable birthday for Emmy!

I can not believe I have a five year old and how wonderful she is! Emmy is TRULY the sweetest most kind person you will EVER meet! She is constantly trying to help people. She got $50 in birthday money. When I asked her what she wanted to do with it her response was " give to to the prophet and homeless people". She is such a beautiful,talented,sweet, amazing person and I am beyond lucky to be her mother!

New Office

When you walk into our house the first thing you see is our office. I have tried to figure out what to do with if for years... I left the walls white for a while, painted a red faux accent wall, painted the rest of the walls... but nothing looked good. I was on Pintrest (shocking :)) and found this DIY wainscoting. Matt added a rail in the middle and made the boxes from a pack of baseboard. The entire office cost us $70!!! LOVE THAT. Anyway I am in full project mode and cant wait to do the next.

I am happy to say that after months of painting, shopping and crafting that Emmy's playhouse is finally finished. I LOVE IT and am so happy that she loves it too!

2011 Recap

2011 was full of fun and adventure for the Crowley Family! We experienced so many fun things together! We finally finished our basement after 3 years of working on it. Matt worked so hard and the kids are beyond in love with it! We also got to go on a fun trip to California visiting Disneyland, Legoland, the beach and Matt and Teisha got to go to Hawaii and Alaska this year.

Emmy had an exciting year. 2011 started off with her 4th birthday party. 1 year later she still talks about it. Emmy got her ears pierced did multiple dance recitals, has learned how to read and so much more. She is truly the sweetest person ever and loves life!

Jackson has also had an eventful year. He has come leaps and bounds with talking, loves animals, outdoors, Thomas the train, sports, his happy (blanket), Emmy and laughing. We have loved watching him turn into his own person and are so grateful he is in our family!

Matt has had a busy year. He started it off deciding to go back into public accounting... He has spent much of the year traveling for work to Alaska, Washington and Chicago. He has enjoyed playing basketball, hanging out with family and friends, going on a few trips with Teisha and the family and so much more. He had a few medical scares this year when getting his appendix removed he ended up in the hospital a few days later because of multiple abscesses throughout his stomach. He has recently started an insulin pump and a new meter called Dexcom. It has been an adjustment but great for his diabetes management!

Teisha has had an exciting year... She has gone on multiple trips this year including Washington twice, Las Vegas, Alaska, Hawaii and California. It has been a year of carpooling, dance recitals, doing crafts, decorating her home, trying to be healthy, pintrest and taking care of her wonderful husband and 2 kids.

We are a blessed family and can't wait to see what 2012 holds!!!

Sneak Peak of Santas Workshop

Jackson's train table. It is in the VERY early stages but I found this table on KSL for $7! I repainted it and am going to add more accessories, bridges, roads and cars. It also has a drawer to hold everything and will match my basement.
Emmy's dressups are a hot mess! I got this dresser on ksl for FREE! I took the drawers out, added a bottom and some legs, put material in it and put some edging on the outside. It also has a little more work needed but I cant wait for her dressups to be organized and for this to go in her cute playhouse!!!
Emmy needs a table in her playhouse as well. I found this set on KSL for $8! I repainted it, made cushions ( thanks steph!) and matched it to her dressup stuff. I had the small American girl doll set from when I was a kid and made it over to match!!!
This will be for Emmy's American girl doll. I could not bring myself to spend $100 on a bed for a doll so decided I would try and make one to match her actual bed. My friend helped with the bedding and the actual bed cost me $4 to make!!! The bedding was $10 making the grand total $14!!! I love getting a good deal and saving money!

" Santa" has been busy this Christmas season. He still has alot to do but is happy with how things are turning out.
Emmy is hoping for an American Girl doll this Christmas and may be getting one with a table, bed and dresser if she is good. She also needs a table and something to organize her dressups with for her playhouse in the basement.
Jackson is hoping for a train table and cars. Santa can not seem to find a train table he likes so is making one himself. It is still in the early stages but I am hopeful things will turnout!
Stay tuned for the finished products! I had to share with someone :)The kids are getting much more this Christmas but I think homemade gifts are some of the best and I had to share :) I cant wait for Christmas morning!!!

The kids had their first sleep over the other night. They are so sweet together!

I have been the worst blogger lately. I have not been very good at taking pictures but here are a few. I promise I will be better!
We are enjoying the Christmas season at the Crowley home! My house was decorated a week before Thanksgiving and Christmas music has been playing non stop! I love the holidays with my sweet kids and love the joy the get over the small things in life.
Emmy has been busy with dance and school. Lots of her performances are coming up next week. Jackson is learning new things everyday and loves anything that has to do with trains, cars, trucks or anything boy for that matter.He is doing great and talking up a storm lately!
Matt is busy as usual at work. We have enjoyed having him home and not traveling as much. His brother moved by us and Matt is loving working out, playing basketball and hanging out with him.
I have been busy with the kids as usual :) Volunteering for Festival of Trees, Christmas shopping and my many projects that seem to be never ending ( pictures to come of Santa's workshop).
I am so greatful for this wonderful season and all the joy and happiness it brings! Happy Christmas Season everyone!!!

DIY Improvments

Guest Bedroom
New bathroom downstairs. We did everything ourselves!I want to tile everything in my house now :)
Emmy's playhouse. I added some things to it and my sweet nieces painted this for me

I needed something for a long wall downstairs. Matt made this shelf and I got all the decorations for$28!!! It is huge and fills the wall perfect!
New lamp and bench. The bench was a old coffee table I had. I added the cushion and now it is a cute little bench. I wish I would have added more foam to make it a little taller but live and learn:) I also got the lamp on KSL for $5 and gave it some spray paint. Total cost $25!
Matt added some casing to the windows for me. I LOVE IT!!! I cant wait to do the rest of the house!
I have had a hard time trying to figure out what to do with this space. Matt wont get rid of this stupid lovesac so I made a reading space for the kids. We read this morning for over an hour in it! Total cost $31!
Thanks to Pintrest I have been trying to update some things in my house. I still have a million things to do but I am happy that I have gotten what I have done. I have not posted pictures of our basement since it have been finished. The kids are LOVING playing downstairs in the playroom! I love this kind of stuff and cant wait for the next project!

Jackson was so excited he could not hold still :) Winnie the pooh was his favorite ride. Emmy wen on Splash Mountain 4 times before this. By far the best part of the day :)

We were able to take a family trip last week to California. We had a blast visiting Legoland, the beach, Matt's brother and Sister in law, trick or treating and of course Disneyland. The kids loved Disneyland the most and are already talking about going back. My favorite part of the trip was watching the parade at Disneyland. My sweet kids were SO happy it brought me to tears in the middle of the park. I am so grateful we were able to go on a family trip.

Last week Emmy and I had the chance to go see the circus with my grandma, brother and his girlfriend. Big thanks to my grandma for getting us 3rd row seats!!! Emmy was amazed the whole time. I dont think I have ever seen her love something as much as she loved the circus. After is was all done she said " Mom this was better then Disneyland!" That pretty much says it all :)

Alaska

I went to Alaska to visit Matt for the weekend. He has been there for the past 2 weeks for business. It was such a fun few days! It felt like we were dating again.
The first night we stayed at Captain Cooks hotel and went to the best restaurant Glacier Brew house! They had the most AMAZING cream soda!!!
The next day we went 4 wheeling and stayed at the beautiful Alyeska Resort. AMAZING!!! We also got to go to the animal retreat center and see all the animals. Matt almost got attacked by an elk because he didn't listen to me :) We also drove around and enjoyed the beautiful scenery that Alaska had to offer.
The last day we took the tram up the beautiful mountain and took a little hike. We spent the rest of they day eating, shopping hanging out and enjoyed being with each other.
I am so grateful I had the opportunity to go to Alaska and spend time with my sweet and amazing husband!

HOW IS JACKSON 2!?!?!?!? Time goes way too fast! I can not believe my baby turns 2 tomorrow. He is such a cute boy and even though he has a temper on him we love him to pieces!!! I cant believe how much he has learned the past 2 weeks. He went from saying about 70 words to doubling his vocabulary and putting words together. I love him more then anything and am so glad he is in our family!

I will never forget September 11, 2001. I was in my parents bedroom getting ready for school. The news was on and we saw the 2nd plane hit. It is forever in my head. The images of people falling, towers tumbling, friends, family, country and myself mourning.
As I get older and September 11 passes every year I find myself more grateful for my country, for my life for my family! God Bless America!

How has my little girl gotten so big? She started preschool today, has learned how to ride her bike without training wheels, is a pro and driving her pink mustang and loves peeling out. Time flies!

Emmy loves barbies, playing house, friends, dance and jumping on the trampoline. She is such a wonderful big sister and is very patient and giving with Jackson. She loves coloring and drawing and is especially good at designing dresses in her drawings. Emmy is creative, loving smart and beautiful. She is a total girly girl! Her favorite colors are pink and purple. She loves her new fish and named her Peacock. Her favorite food is stroganoff. She is a great driver in her car and loves taking Jackson for rides. Emmy loves trying new hair styles and hopes to have hair as long as Rapunzel one day :) She truly amazes me everyday.

We have had a stressful few weeks! Matt had his appendix out July 24th. It is always so scary when Matt gets sick because his diabetes complicates things and he never complains unless something is serious. Everything was going OK after recovery for a couple days. His sugar levels were a little high but that was to be expected. As the days went on Matt's stomach got more swollen, he was in more pain, his sugars kept rising, his fever came and went and he was feeling horrible. We called the Dr everyday for 5 days. She continuously told us everything was normal and he was fine. Finally after begging Matt we decided to take him into urgent care. When we got there he was so sick I thought he was going to pass out. To make a long story short they found that Matt has multiple abscesses throughout his stomach. We were at the hospital for 4 days. Matt had to have the abscesses drained and was put on antibiotics. We decided to switch Dr's and I am so happy we did. I felt like things were taken care of and Matt was actually listened to.
My reason for this post is to express my gratitude. I am so grateful for my family. I am grateful that we are an eternal family and no matter what happens we will be together forever. I am grateful for my children. They are a constant joy in my life. Their sweet spirits have changed me so much over the years.
I am grateful for modern medicine. Without it I would not have a husband now. I am grateful that Matt has medicine to control his diabetes. I am grateful for Dr. Murdock. I am so grateful he took Matt as his patient, listened to us, communicated with us and visited us numerous times throughout the day to tell us what was happening.
I am grateful for my extended family and all the help and support they gave us while Matt was in the hospital.
I am grateful for my Heavenly Father. I was so upset and felt like he was the only one I could turn to. I am grateful that he listens and helps me daily.
Last and most important right now is my husband. Matt, I love you more then anything. You are my constant rock. You make me a better person. Your love for our kids brings me to tears. I love the passion and outlook you have in life. I love the way you deal with my grumpy ways and help me no matter what. I love they way you still cuddle me every night after 6 years. I love the person you are and how much you care for others. I love that you have a never ending work ethic. But most of all I love that you are here. I love that you can experience everything and watch our kids grow. I love you so much!
Things have really been put into prospective for me lately. Nothing matters more then my family. Thank you everyone for your support, prayers, help and love!

Easter was my all time favorite holiday!!! Both kids totally understood what was going on and were beyond excited. I love holidays with my kids! We ate candy for breakfast, went to church and visited family. I love my kids and spending the holidays with them!

No Good Very Bad Day

Today SUCKED!!! My morning started at 7:45.. anything before 8:00 is not OK! Shortly after Jackson decided that today was the day to be the biggest stinker in the world! Before 11:00 am he had been in timeout a total of 4 times.

I finally got out of the house around 11:30 to get my phone fixed and meet Matt for lunch. I got to the phone store and waited for 30 minutes with 2 kids (remember Jackson was being a stinker) just to find out they did not have my phone and I would have to go to a different one and get it. I was not happy but still doing OK...

Cafe Rio is my LOVE!!! Cafe Rio can make anything better! I had been looking so forward to going to the beloved Cafe Rio... I get the kids out of the car and walk in finding a much larger the usual line :( I did not have the time or patience for this stupid Cafe Rio line so I left and got a hamburger (that would explain my larger the usual ass). I then dropped Matt back off at work and headed to get my phone fixed.

Do you ever see a mom that looks like an idiot and has no idea what she is doing? Well that was me today. Emmy was pushing Jackson in the stroller, somehow it tipped causing Jackson's mouth to bleed. It took much longer then I had hoped to get the phone set up and I felt so bad that my poor kids had endured this day with me... Needless to say we were exhausted when we got home.

Adding to the day my eye has been twitching all of it. I am convinced that I am having a seizure and that my face is going to be 1/2 paralyzed but Matt did not think that was a good enough reason to come home.

I am ending the day watching Sex and The City, eating a carton of ice cream (again adding to my larger then usual ass) and blogging. Happy Monday!

I am sorry to complain but Today was a no good very bad day! I am ready for my husband to be home. I am sick of being outside at 6pm and watching all the dad's come home. It really pisses me off and I have a desire deep inside of me to flip each of them off. I am hoping this last week of not having my husband around goes by fast! I love my sweet family even if I want to scream sometimes. Lets hope tomorrow goes a little better!!!

New Swing Set!!!

About a month ago I finally found a swing set worth buying. When we bought it it looked a little beat up but I thought I could make it over. Finally this week was nice enough to work outside. After 2 hours of sanding, 8 hours of staining and a few new trinkets to attach here is the finished product! The kids LOVE it and have spent every spare moment in our backyard on the swing set and trampoline. I look forward to years of watching my kids play on this!

Welcome home to me :)

I took a little girls trip to Vegas last weekend. It was SO FUN!!! I missed my family but it was a much needed getaway. We had fun shopping, eating, more shopping, seeing the Lion King (SO GOOD) walking the strip, talking and laughing. I am so glad I was able to go and am so grateful for my wonderful friends!!!

Big thanks to my sweet husband who watched the kids, cleaned the house (bathrooms and floors included), got the car oil changed, took the kids swimming and so much more. Isn't he awesome!!!

2010 In Review

This year has been full of fun things we have done as a family! The kids are doing great and enjoying everyday life. We took the kids on a family vacation to Disneyland and also took them camping. The holidays were great and everyone got spoiled!

Emmy started preschool this year and is loving it! She can write her name and is trying to start reading. She loves playing with her dolls, reading scriptures and dancing. She has had 2 dance performances this year and gets better with every lesson she takes. She is a great big sister and loves to give Jackson kisses even if they are not wanted. She is a great helper and is always happy. We look froward to watching her learn more. She always asks if we can go back to Disneyland so that may be in the cards again this year.

Jackson is ALL BOY!!! He loves to play ball, wrestle and all the other things boys like to do. He has been walking since he was 10 months and always lets you know what he wants. He is starting to talk . His favorite word to say is football. He likes to give kisses and LOVES dogs. We look froward to him learning more words, getting more stable with walking, going into a big boy bed and so much more in 2011

Matt and I have also had a great year! We recently took a week cruise together as a couple and LOVED LOVED LOVED every minute of it! Matt has been busy at work. His company merged this year and he has had to put in alot of hours. Matt likes going working out during lunch, playing basketball, playing Madden Football and so much more. I have been busy being a mom this year. I broke my neck this summer but am back to normal. I also have lost 15 pounds and am happy to say I weigh 7 pounds less then I did in high school! We look forward to Matt getting Lasik January 12th!!! Taking a fun family vacation, Teisha going to Seattle and whatever else 2011 brings! Here is to a good year!!!

Christmas was so much fun this year! Emmy was so excited she could hardly stand it and Jackson kept saying "WOW!" when he woke up and saw all his gifts. I have not seen Emmy since yesterday. I love my neighbors SO much!!! When we moved in 3 years ago I would pray every night that I would find not just friends but true friends. 3 years later I can not believe how many amazing people I have met and how many true friends I really do have! I LOVE my friends and neighbors SO SO SO much! They are a blessing and help to me everyday. I am so glad I have girls I can talk,shop,cry and laugh with!

I cant believe my baby is 1. He has brought so much joy into our lives. He is such a special guy and is all boy! I love him SO much and am so glad he was brought into our family a year ago. He has the sweetest and most adorable personality! He says mom, dad, dog, ball and can tell you what the tiger and monkey say. He is in the 70% for weight at 90% for height. He LOVEs balls and animals and cant get enough of his cute sister! He has also been walking for about 3 weeks and is into EVERYTHING! We love you Jackson Happy 1st Birthday!

Today was Emmy's first day of school. She was so excited. She got a little nervous when we got there but warmed up quickly. She did not even look back at me when she left. I was the freak mom who started crying after she left and was glad Matt was with me. I am excited for her to learn but sure will miss my little buddy during the day!

I am happy to report that this week was much better! I am sorry about the negative post last week but sometimes that is how I feel. Anyway we had a great week!

We started the week off with a wonderful FHE with the Petits. We decided to go bowling and get frozen yogurt. We had so much fun and the kids loved every minute of it. This week also consisted of 5 swimming lessons, being on the news, going to the beach, date night, shopping , visiting grandma and so much more. I am also happy to report that Jackson is FINALLY clapping. I was getting very worried and he is trying to walk! He took 4 steps today!!!

I am so grateful for my family and the love we have for each other. Sometimes things are bad and sometimes things are good. What matters is being there for each other :) Thanks Matt for all the extra help this week. It was much needed and SO appreciated. I love my kids so much. They are adorable :)

Bad Week

Last week was one of those weeks for me. It was long, emotional, frustrating and draining. Lately I have been exhausted, bored and just annoyed with everyone and everything.

Emmy starts school in 4 weeks. I love her more then anything and love having her home but, she also knows how to push my buttons alot lately! She seems to scream bloody murder everytime I do her hair. I understand that it hurts to get a ratsnest brushed out of your hair but I just want 1 peaceful hair day. I would also love to be that mom who does her kids hair really cute. I can tell she is bored with me lately. I try to keep her entertained, teach her new things and do fun activities but sometimes it is not enough. I am so happy she is starting school. I know she will love it.

Matt and I decided it is time to buy a SUV. We want the new Tahoe or so we thought... The thing about Matt is when he makes a large decision he must discuss it with everyone and everything. We get an overload of information and then get confused. After 3 days of looking until 3 am on the Internet, too many car salesman, lots of opinions and a hungry me I lost it. I had a full blow breakdown on the side of the road. I am not proud of this but GOOD HELL FIND A FREAKING CAR! Anyway, we have since worked things out and have for sure decided on the Tahoe. The only problem is finding one in black or white with with leather, bucket seats, backup camera and in our price range (impossible in my opinion).

This week has also consisted of numerous people making fun of my neck brace and lots of strange looks. I understand I look like a freak but it is only funny for so long. I wish Matt would understand this! I had to drive to Bountiful this week in a minivan with the brace on, 2 kids and a large pink child's mustang hanging out the back. Needless to say not one of my great looking moments. Another great looking moment I had this week was at the gas station. I just purchased a adorable peacock print dress. I wanted to get the kids a treat and a soda for myself. I kept getting strange looks but just thought it was the fact that I had two kids pulling on me with a neck brace on. After the gas station I went to see Matt at work. When I got out of the car he informed me that my dress was ripped my garments were the only thing covering my buttocks. All I have to say is good thing I was not wearing a thong!

All in all I am glad the week is over and I am starting a new one. I plan to be a better me this week. Attitude is so much and I am going to have a better one. When Emmy is screaming while I am doing her hair I am going to put ear plugs in. When I am on the verge of a breakdown I am going to walk away and calm down. When Matt is car searching I am going to watch "Say Yes To The Dress"And instead of being irritated with my neckbrace I am going to embrace it by BEDAZZLING it with jewels and ribbon :). This week IS going to be better. I officially wash myself of my bad attitude and am starting fresh!

Emmy starts dance this week and also has 5 days of swimming lessons. We live a fun life of pool parties, pretend princesses, playgroups, lunch dates and shopping trips. I am truly grateful for all the wonderful people and things I have in my life. I am going to be a better wife, mother and friend. Life is good.

Today was a great day! We started it off with Emmy's first dance performance! She didn't know what to think at first and stood there like a deer in headlights but eventually got it. The other girls either stood their of did their own thing. It was SO cute! I love my little Emmy dancer!

Matt got a new grill for fathers day and could not be more excited! He spent all afternoon setting it up. I will have to get a picture with him and his new love :) After the grill was set up we decided to do the slip and slide. Emmy loved it and we had a blast!!!

8 months ago none of these things would have happened to me (except the not getting dressed part :) ) being a mother of 2 has taught me to relax. Sometimes things don't get done other times they do.Teach your kids to live, laugh and love! Be the best you. Take a little time out of your day and realize what is really important. Love your life for what it is and not what your want it to be. Live, laugh ,love and RELAX life is too short to stress about the little things.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers day!!! I don't know what my life would be like without my 2 adorable kids! Yesterday was a day for me to reflect on all the joy they bring into my life!!! I love being a mother!

Matt got me an awesome family picture that I have not had the time or the money to buy. It is the one with all of us on the bed and will be going over our bed ( so cute). Emmy got me an adorable heart necklace that she wore all yesterday :) and Jackson got me some VERY pink lip gloss in case I am feeling like a wild woman. I love my little family so very much!

Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life. Emmy had been peeing frequently for more then 3 days and I checked her blood sugar. It was suppose to be under 100 and was 155! She had already been to the doctor and her UTI test came back negative. My world came crashing down. The thought of my daughter having diabetes crushed me. The thought of my daughter having to give herself shots and monitoring things so closely and such a young age was too much for me to think about. Matt has diabetes so we know everything it entails.

The power of prayer and the temple are amazing. I have never prayed as much as I did yesterday. While Matt and I were in the temple we both had a calm feeling come over us. As stressed and sad as I was when I was at the temple I was calm. I somehow knew no matter what happened we would make it through it. Matt also gave Emmy a blessing. The spirit was so strong! There is nothing more amazing then hearing your husband give your child a blessing and it was such a great learning experience for Emmy. I am so grateful for my faith and love. I know that our Heavenly Father hears me and answers my prayers.

I am so grateful for my children. They have their days where I want to scream but they are so amazing. I cant get over what a strong person Emmy is! She is truly amazing. There is nothing like the love you have for your children. Every smile or kiss I get my heart melts. I am so grateful I am able to stay home with our family and witness them growing up everyday. I am also grateful for my husband. He never panics and is always there to try and calm me when I need it. We make a good team!

Life is full of surprises sometimes good and sometimes bad. We have had our share of bad surprises and am sure more will come but no matter what I have my family and my faith. I have TRULY learned how strong of a tool prayer and going to the temple can be. I am so grateful for my life, my husband, my children and my faith!!!

This was our last ride of the day:( We had so much fun. It was a lot of work and quite expensive but totally worth it. Taking my kids to Disneyland is an experience I will never forget!

Enjoying another beach day!

We had a blast! I cant say we will be taking our kids on another trip anytime soon:) No one warned us how much work it is but we had a blast! I am so glad we had the experience to take our kids to a new place. Emmy LOVED Disneyland, the pool and the beach. She keeps asking to go to another hotel and am sure she will remember this trip for a very long time. I love my family so much and am so grateful we could take this little adventure!

My Long Hair Will Be Coming To An End!

After seeing our family pictures that we got taken on the beach I have decided I want to cut my hair! I just might do it soon. I have been growing my hair our forever and though I wish I had long, thick, flowing locks I dont :( If anyone sees a cute short hair cut send it to me!!!

I have had a few requests for an updated picture of Jackson. He is almost 6 months and is rolling over and sitting up. He LOVES Emmy and thinks she is hilarious. We love him SO much!!!
