WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!!!

So i have been getting complant after complaint mostly from Lisa how I never update my blog. I will admit that I could be alot better about it. This month has just been crazy. It has been one thing after another!
A few weeks ago Matt was feeling weird. He was peeing like 20 times or more a day ( sorry i know thats alot of info) he was drinking a ton of fluids and could not get hydrated. Soon after this happened he was starting to get blurry vision and he lost about 15 pounds in 4 days. When he told me how much weight he lost on a Sunday morning i made him go to the dr. When we got there the doctor thought he could have strep or a kidney infection. I had a feeling thanks to google that he should get his blood drawn and get checked for Diabetes. After finally convincing the urgent care doctor to take some blood he came in with horribble news! Matt had Diabetes. Your levels are suppoe to be betwee 80-120 and he was in the 600's! The doctor made me rush him to the hospital so he could get his levels down. Since then we have been in and out of the emrgency rooms a couple times. It took the doctors a while to figure out how to keep his blood sugar down. We have now meet with all sorts of doctors and are learning more about it everyday. It has been a complete lifestyle change for us. We have to look at the food labels for everything he eats. He has to take a shot in the morning and then again everytime he eats totaling about 6-8 times a day. He can not have very many carbs or sugars or it will take him too high and if he does not measure his insulin right it takes him too low. I love my husband so much and he has been such a trooper! We will get through this and pretty soon it will just be apart of our normal day and hopefully not be as stressful!

Soooooo. The day after we found out Matt had Diabetes he was at work and I went to my moms house so we could go and get some food for Matt at the store. On her way out of the driveway she backed right into my car! It was just what we needed. Something else to deal with. After getting numerous bids and convincing my moms husband to go through their insurance agent we took the car to get fixed. It has taken about a week and we are expecting to get it back tomorrow. We had to get Emmy a new car seat because the seat was in the car when it was hit.

Last Tuesday i was getting ready for my cake decorating class. I put some music on for Emmy to dance to. She was dancing in my bedroom while i was getting ready in my bathroom (the bathroom is connected to the bedroom). While she was spinning she trped over herself and tripped. She hit her poor little head on the corner of my bed. I went over and picked her up and gave her a little love. I patted her head and was telling her it was ok when I looked at my hand and it was dripping with blood. I turned her around and saw that she had cut the back of her head and it was bleeding down her shirt. I took her to the bathroom and rinced her head off so i could see if she needed stitches. Luckly matt walked right in the door as all of this happened. We decided we would take her to the Doctor just to make sure everything was ok. When the doctor checked her he said that we could tie her down with sheets to the table and stitch her up, take her to the hspial where they could give her some medicine to make it not as tramatic or because it had stopped bleeding we could let it heel itself. He said it was really not that deep and because it was on the back of her head the hair would cover the scar. We decided to just take her home and let it heel itself. She has been awesome. She does honestly has no idea there is a little cut on th back of her head. She has been a real tropper (just like her daddy!) We have all been sick with colds also and are looking forward to feeing better!

On a brighter note. I finally got my new car! I got to go to the Jack Johnson concert with Lindsey Rutter and we got to sit by his friends and family! Lindsey Lawson got married. I am finally starting Twilight and love it. All my fall shopping for Emmy is done and my house will be spotessby then end of the day!!!

RECAP OF JULY

Emmy being so cute!

I cant believe that the month of July is almost over already. We have had such a busy month and I am ready for things to settle down. I started July off with throwing my shoe party. Sole Desires came to my house with a huge truck of shoes. The more shoes people bought the more free shoes I would receive. Being myself I took full advantage of this and invited a little more then I could handle. I sent out about 75 invitations thinking 40 people would show up. I WAS WRONG!!! I had well over 70 people at my house. My poor house was so packed you could hardly move around! The good news was that I got 8 pairs of new shoes that i love!!!

One of my best friends Lisa is getting married at the end of this month and had another shower with my old ward. It was so nice to see everyone and get some time to talk with Lisa. I miss the old days of blasting music in the car and not having a care in the world.

As most of you know Matt is the baby of 7 kids. His family of 39 were planning to come to Utah for a family Reunion. Matt's brother and his wife Sam were the first to arrive. When Matt and Mitch are together no one else exists! They don't think about anyone or anything other then themselves. So we went to the batting cages, golfing, mini golfing, swimming, rock climbing and anything else they wanted to do for a full week. By the time the week was over I was ready to stay in my house doing nothing for a year! I wish I could have but the next day the rest of Matt's family got in town. We spent the next few days going to his parents house having parties and watching movies in their movie theater. After that we headed up to good old Reid Ranch for a 3 day fun filled family Reunion. I am not much of a camper and my nerves were getting the best of me. Between the HORRIBLE food, staying in a cabin with 39 people, getting a 7:00 wake up call every morning and having Emmy only sleep a total of 4 hours a night i was a little grumpy and feel bad about the situation. I must admit that the trip did have a few high points. Horseback riding was fun and the snow cones they had there were amazing! When we got home I was so excited!!! It was so nice to sleep in my amazing bed with my amazing pillow!!! We had a few days of R&R and just hung out with the good old fam. My sister-in-law Eve came a few nights ago to visit us and we had a little girls night.

On the 23 we went to Bountiful for a bbq and fireworks but did not stay for all of it. We also went to see the new Batman movie. Today we are working on the yard and hanging out. I am grateful for my husband and look up to him in so many ways. I am excited to get back to my normal schedule and go on with my normal life!

CONGRATS to Tori and Ryan on the birth of their little girl!!! I cant wait to see her!!!
Congrats to Lisa who is getting married on July 30th!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!

It has been a while since I have blogged. Our computer crashed on so I have not had a computer during the day:( Well the past 2 days have just been crazy! I feel like we have been running around like chickens with their heads cut off! On Thursday we went to Matt's parents house. They live on Eaglewood golf course and always have a big firework show on the 3rd. We got there around 4 and just hung out. It was "bring your own meat night" so Matt brought himself a HUGE rib eye steak. Well I figured that if i got a Cafe Rio salad then the chicken could count as the "bring your own meat". It was such a wonderful salad but I think I pissed a few people off (its because they were jealous I am sure :))Anyway after we ate we just sat and talked and then watched the fireworks. They were ok but not the best I have ever seen. Matt and I figured if we ran to the car right when the fireworks got done we would beat the traffic. WE WERE WRONG! oh gosh it took us an hour to get out of there! By the time we got home we were all so tired i could not event think about doing fireworks again the next day but yesterday I woke up and we did the whole thing again. We went to a fair with some friends and then met my family at Sugar House Park. It has been a fun couple of days and has been nice to have Matt home a little more. I love my family! Emmy is getting so big and starting to communicate so well! She is putting sentences together now and I really can not believe I have such a wonderful toddler!!!

Poor Emmy Broke Her Arm :(

So this past week and a half has been a little crazy to say the least. Emmy broke her arm :( Last Wednesday i was cleaning my kitchen while Emmy was sitting on the couch watching Blues Clues. I turned around to clean my oven and I herd Emmy fall. I turned back around and saw she had fallen off the couch. I went to pick her up and give her some loves. She usually only cries for about a minute when she has a spill but she cried for about 10 min. We had been running errands all day and it was about her nap time so i thought she was a little over tired. I kept holding her as she was crying and she fell asleep in my arms. I went and put her down for her nap still thinking she had just been a little tired. I called Matt and he said he was sure that she would be fine. After her normal 2 hour nap she woke up and was acting normal. We ran some more errands and I noticed every time I got her in or out of the car seat she started to fuss a little. When we got home Matt was home. I had a birthday party to go to so I told him to keep an eye on her. While I was at the party I had the feeling come over me. I knew she broke her arm. When I got home I checked her a little more and then told Matt we had to go to the doctor. We went to the urgent care down the street from us. When we got there they took some x-rays and all she could do was scream "bye bye, bye bye" it was so sad! When they got the x-rays back they confirmed that her arm was broken but it was broken in 2 places and could have some nerve damage so we would have to see a orthopedic specialist. I was a mess! The urgent care was closing and I had probably about 10 doctors and nurses around me. I was bawling. They were all so nice and were trying to make me feel better. The doctor told me I needed to get Emmy into a specialist by Friday and said that it would be almost impossible to get her in but to find a way. Thank goodness my moms neighbor is an orthopedic specialist and works with the Jazz players. Friday morning at 8:00 we went to him thinking she would just get a new cast. He took some more x-rays and told us that the bone was not positioned right so he would have to put her under to reset the bone. I was a mess again bawling and all :) We scheduled the operation at St Marks for Thursday. Yesterday we took her in. She had no idea what was going on. After signing in and stuff we went into her room. The nurse gave her some medicine that made her as high as a kite! It was suppose to relax her so she would not have a hard time when they had to take her and give her the anaesthesia. It really was sad but so funny at the same time. She could not walk or talk. All she could do was open her mouth and put her head up and down. The anaesthesiologist came in and got her . We waited in the waiting room for about 20 min. They came and got us and said everything went great. They didn't even have to give her an IV. She is all better now and has a little cast on her for 4 long weeks.

OUR TRIP!

So it has been a few weeks since we got back from our cruise and I am just now getting to blog about it.So here I go... We left on a Friday around 2:00 and got to LA at about 6:00. We stayed at Matt's brothers house and left early the next morning for Long Beach. We got on the ship and went to our room. The room was actually pretty nice and we ate 3 times in a matter of about 3 hours :) (yes i did gain about 5 pounds) We sailed for two day to go to Puerto Vallarta. The first day was pretty ugly but the second day was warm! We played ddr on the ship, hung out at the pool, went to the shows and of course ATE!!! After the two days of sailing we got to Puerto Vallarta. I LOVED IT THERE!!! We got to do zip lining through the jungle and rappelling down the waterfalls. It was so much fun and just a beautiful place. The next day we went to Mazaltlan. The weather was warm and we planned on just shopping around town. We ended up going to the beach and went parasailing. It was so much fun but i got a little scared. We then went shopping and went back to the beach. Some guy named Chewy talked us into going sailing and snorkeling instead of wave running. IT SUCKED!!! The water was brown and we got super wet on the sailboat. The next day we went to Cabo San Lucas. This was my favorite place. I loved how clear the water was! We finally ended up going wave running on the ocean. It really was amazing for me. I think i slowed Matt down a little but he didn't mind much. We spent the next day sailing and then stayed in LA with Matt's brother again for a day. I was so glad to finally get home. I missed Emmy SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. I think us going on this trip made me appreciate everything I have so much more. Matt and I got a week to feel like newlyweds again. I am so happy to be back!!!

MY BABY HAS A BABY!

I am denying that my child is now a toddler! Emmy has learned so much lately. She knows what all the animals say, she can run, she can feed herself with spoon, she can say so many words i cant even count anymore but it has just hit me that my baby is not a baby anymore. She is now a toddler. I came to this conclusion last week when i was shopping with my sister-in-law. She has a 6 week old baby and Emmy kept pointing to her and saying "baby baby". After shopping we came home and she went into her play room and got a small baby doll that my mom got her months ago. She then came into the family room and said "My baby". Apart of me wanted to cry because i realized that she is not the tiny little baby that i thought she was anymore. I feel like she learns so fast! After reading her some books on babies and playing with her she now takes the baby with her everywhere. She will put it on her shoulder and say "sh sh sh". She will give her hugs and kisses and even put her baby "nigh nigh". So i guess it is official... MY BABY IS A TODDLER! I honestly can not believe how fast time has gone. I feel like I just had Emmy and now she is walikng, talking and learning more everyday. I love my Matt and Emmy so much and am so grateful that I have been so blessed!
